Rose Avetisyan - Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant

Hello, I'm Rose!

Welcome to Rose Sleep Co! I'm Rose Avetisyan, a certified pediatric sleep consultant and mom who understands firsthand the challenges of sleepless nights.

Why I Became a Sleep Consultant

I was sleep-deprived, overstimulated, and every consecutive night with little to no sleep affected my mental health. I spent countless hours researching methods, reading online forums, and comparing advice from different experts. The information was overwhelming, contradictory, and exhausting to sort through while running on empty.

After weeks of trial and error, I successfully got my own baby to sleep through the night. But something unexpected happened along the way: I became deeply passionate about the subject. I realized how much quality sleep impacts the mental health and wellbeing of parents. When we are rested, we make better decisions, we have more focus, and we show up as the parents we want to be.

That experience drove me to get certified through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting so I could help other families find the rest they deserve. Now, I combine evidence-based methods with a personalized approach that honors your unique baby and your family's preferences. Whether you are dealing with a newborn who won't settle, a baby going through sleep regression, or a toddler with bedtime battles, I am here to help.

Common Baby Sleep Problems We Solve

Every family's sleep journey is unique. Here are the most common challenges Los Angeles parents bring to Rose Sleep Co.

Baby waking every hour at night - Rose Sleep Co can help

Frequent Night Wakings

Is your baby waking every one to two hours throughout the night? Frequent night wakings are one of the most exhausting challenges for new parents in Southern California. These wakings often stem from sleep associations, where your baby has learned to fall asleep only with specific conditions like nursing, rocking, or being held. When they naturally rouse between sleep cycles, they cannot fall back asleep without those same conditions. Our gentle sleep training methods help babies develop the ability to self-soothe, allowing them to connect sleep cycles independently and sleep through the night. Most families see dramatic improvement within the first week of implementing their personalized sleep plan.

Baby waking too early in the morning - sleep consultant solutions

Early Morning Wake-Ups

When your baby consistently wakes at 4:30 or 5:00 AM ready to start the day, it can leave the whole family exhausted before the day even begins. Early morning wakings are among the trickiest sleep issues to resolve because they have many potential causes: too much light in the room, going to bed too late or too early, insufficient daytime sleep, or simply a child who has had enough consolidated sleep by early morning. Our comprehensive sleep assessments identify the root cause of your child's early rising, and our personalized plans address each contributing factor. Many Southern California families are surprised to learn that simple schedule adjustments can add hours to their morning rest.

Baby waking at night crying - compassionate sleep solutions

Bedtime Battles & Night Crying

Toddler bedtime battles can turn what should be a peaceful end to the day into an hour-long struggle of negotiations, requests for water, another story, or just one more hug. Babies who wake crying inconsolably at night leave parents feeling helpless and worried. These challenges often indicate that a child's sleep needs are not being met optimally, whether due to overtiredness, undertiredness, hunger, discomfort, or learned patterns. Rose Sleep Co addresses both the behavioral and biological factors contributing to difficult nights. Our gentle, attachment-focused methods help children feel secure while learning that sleep is safe and restful, not something to fight against.

Baby Sleep Training: Myths vs. Facts

There is a lot of conflicting information about infant sleep. Let us separate the myths from the science-backed facts.

Myth

"Sleep training will damage my bond with my baby"

Fact

Research consistently shows that gentle sleep training methods do not harm the parent-child attachment bond. Studies published in Pediatrics and other peer-reviewed journals have found no negative long-term effects on children's emotional development, behavior, or parent-child relationships. In fact, well-rested parents often report feeling more patient, more present, and more connected to their children during waking hours. A rested family is a happier family.

Myth

"Babies will naturally learn to sleep through the night when they are ready"

Fact

While some babies do develop independent sleep skills on their own, many need gentle guidance to learn healthy sleep habits. Sleep is a learned skill, much like walking or talking. Without appropriate support and boundaries, some children continue to have fragmented sleep well into childhood. Early intervention with a certified sleep consultant can prevent chronic sleep issues and help the whole family establish sustainable, healthy sleep patterns that last for years.

Myth

"Sleep training only works for certain babies"

Fact

Every child can learn to sleep better with the right approach tailored to their unique needs. We have successfully helped babies with reflux, allergies, developmental differences, high sensitivity, and those who were labeled impossible sleepers by their exhausted parents. The key is finding the right method for each individual child and family. What works for one baby may not work for another, which is exactly why personalized sleep plans are so much more effective than generic advice found online.

Myth

"Sleep training always means cry-it-out"

Fact

There are many different approaches to sleep training, and cry-it-out is just one option. Gentle methods include gradual withdrawal, chair method, pick-up-put-down, and check-and-console approaches that involve regular parental presence and reassurance. I work with families to find a method that matches their comfort level. Some protest crying may occur as your baby adjusts to new sleep habits, but sleep training does not require leaving your baby to cry alone.

Myth

"You cannot sleep train a breastfed baby"

Fact

Breastfed babies can absolutely be sleep trained successfully. Sleep training and breastfeeding are not mutually exclusive. Many breastfed babies continue night feeds while learning to fall asleep independently at bedtime. I always recommend working with your lactation consultant on feeding-related questions to protect your milk supply. The goal is better sleep for everyone while supporting your breastfeeding relationship.

Myth

"Sleep training is selfish"

Fact

Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It is essential. Sleep deprivation affects your mental health, your patience, your ability to make decisions, and your overall well-being. When parents are rested, they are better equipped to be present, patient, and responsive with their children. Teaching your baby healthy sleep habits is a gift that benefits the entire family. Well-rested parents are happier, healthier, and more connected to their children.

Frequently Asked Questions About Baby Sleep Consulting

Get answers to the most common questions Los Angeles parents ask about working with a sleep consultant.

Sleep training is the process of helping your baby learn to fall asleep independently and resettle between sleep cycles using developmentally appropriate strategies and consistent routines. In my approach, you are sleep training anytime you are working to improve your infant's sleep, whether that includes schedule changes, sleep environment adjustments, bedtime routines, or gentle methods.

Most babies are ready between 4 to 6 months, once they have more predictable sleep cycles and are developmentally capable of self-soothing. I work with children from newborn to 4 years old. For babies under 4 months, I offer newborn consultations focused on gentle habit-shaping, but formal sleep training typically waits until at least 4 months.

No, sleep training and night-weaning are separate decisions. Many babies continue one or more night feeds while still learning independent sleep at bedtime. I educate about hunger versus comfort feeds and recommend speaking with your pediatrician and lactation consultant. Sleep training can be done while baby is taking night feeds, or if appropriate, we can work on night-weaning together.

Some protest crying is common, especially in the first few nights. Most babies show significant improvement within 3 to 7 nights, and crying typically decreases over time. Many methods include timed check-ins, verbal reassurance, physical presence, and gradual withdrawal. Sleep training does not require ignoring your baby, and I support families with all different comfort levels around crying.

Gentle methods typically take 2 to 3 weeks, while check-and-console methods often show results within 1 week. Every baby is different, and I customize the approach based on your child's age, temperament, starting point, your goals, and your comfort level.

Yes, absolutely. I still recommend that you speak with your lactation consultant regarding feeding-related questions, such as how often at night baby should eat or when you should night-wean. I would never want to interrupt your milk supply. Sleep training and breastfeeding work together beautifully when done thoughtfully.

Research shows no long-term negative impact on attachment when babies are otherwise lovingly cared for and responded to during the day. Sleep training does not change who your baby is. It helps them use their existing abilities to sleep more effectively, and a well-rested family often feels more connected and patient.

I am not a medical provider, and I recommend that all medical concerns be addressed with your pediatrician before we begin working together. Once your pediatrician gives the green light, we can work around any medical considerations in your personalized sleep plan.

If your child is teething or sick, we can put a brief pause on the program and come back to it after. Research shows teething pain typically lasts about 8 days. When it comes to regressions, the only strong scientific evidence supports the 4-month regression. Other temporary disruptions are often related to schedule changes, developmental leaps, or environmental factors that we can address together.

As your baby gets older, their sleep needs change and they require less daytime sleep. Capping naps or dropping one entirely is often the first adjustment to consider. In the toddler years, fear of darkness and the transition from crib to toddler bed can be common disruptions. I provide guidance on these transitions as part of ongoing support.

Clinically, sleeping through the night often means a 6 to 8 hour stretch, not zero wakings. Expectations vary by age and feeding needs. I help set realistic expectations based on your baby's developmental stage while working toward the best possible sleep for your whole family.

When you refer a friend or family member who completes any sleep consulting package, you receive a 100 dollar referral bonus. There is no limit to how many referrals you can make. Many of our Southern California clients came through word-of-mouth recommendations from satisfied parents. It is our way of saying thank you for trusting us with your loved ones.

Why Work with a Professional Sleep Consultant?

Discover the benefits of expert guidance for your family's sleep journey.

Personalized Plans

Generic advice from books and websites cannot account for your child's unique temperament, your family's schedule, or your parenting philosophy. A certified sleep consultant creates a completely customized plan based on a comprehensive assessment of your specific situation. This personalized approach leads to faster, more lasting results than trying to piece together advice from multiple sources.

Daily Support

Sleep training can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already exhausted. Having a knowledgeable professional available to answer questions, provide encouragement, and help troubleshoot challenges makes all the difference. Our daily check-ins ensure you never feel alone, and we can make real-time adjustments to your plan based on how your baby is responding.

Faster Results

When parents try to sleep train on their own, inconsistency and second-guessing often prolong the process and create more confusion for the baby. Professional guidance helps you implement strategies correctly from the start, reducing the overall time and stress involved in achieving your sleep goals. Most families see significant improvement within the first week.

Evidence-Based Methods

Sleep science is constantly evolving. A certified sleep consultant stays current with the latest research on infant sleep development, safe sleep practices, and effective training methods. You can trust that the recommendations you receive are grounded in evidence, not outdated advice or internet myths that could be counterproductive or even unsafe.

Emotional Support

Sleep deprivation affects your mood, your relationships, and your ability to enjoy parenthood. Working with a consultant provides not just practical guidance but also emotional support and reassurance during a challenging time. We understand the guilt, the worry, and the exhaustion that come with baby sleep struggles, and we are here to support the whole family.

Long-Term Success

Our goal is not just to fix the immediate sleep problem but to give you the knowledge and skills to maintain healthy sleep habits for years to come. We educate you about age-appropriate sleep needs, wake windows, and how to handle future challenges like regressions, illness, travel, and transitions. You will feel confident navigating whatever sleep curveballs come your way.
